RipXFit Team OCR

Local gym RipXFit created a team of athletes to compete in a series of obstacle course races: tests of stamina and agility that force participants though long-distance running and challenging obstacle work. The owner requested that I make them something tough and gritty like the races they ran, while still allowing them to stand out on the field. I mean, you want everyone watching when you win, right?

Process work

Since obstacle course racing is a decidedly analog experience, I spent a weekend in my back yard painting with india ink on cardstock in order to capture interesting brushstrokes and oversprays that I could digitize into a final illustration.
