Process work
After some exploratory sketching, my plan was to create an antique-looking emblem for Cycle Labs, a tech company celebrating its first birthday. I was hoping to create some visual silliness by juxtaposing the two ideas, but none of my efforts felt strong enough to carry forward. I kicked around my problem with a few teammates, when one noted that the baseball-style monogram reminded him of our recent company outing to see the Durham Bulls. He wondered if there weren't more small elements I could illustrate and combine to tell the story of Cycle Lab's first year — a suggestion that ended up being the final design.
